Dr. Henry Jones
After suddenly fleeing a Zeppelin airship, Indy and his father find themselves stranded on a beach, assaulted by heavy fire from a German Air Force plane, and out of both ammunition and places to hide. Inspired by a quote from Charlemagne, Henry Jones uses his umbrella to scare a massive flock of seagulls into flight. The gulls swarm around the attacking plane, disorienting the pilot and causing the plane to crash.
Colonel Vogel
This German army colonel acted as commander in charge of his country’s efforts to possess the grail. Backed by the historical knowledge of Dr. Elsa Schneider and the funding of the American multi-millionaire Walter Donovan, Vogel’s shrewd mind and merciless heart landed Indiana Jones and his father in constant peril.
Young Indy
On a desert excursion, young Indy sneaks away from his Boy Scout troop, discovering a band of treasure hunters who have unearthed a valuable artifact: the cross of Coronado. Convinced that the cross belongs in a museum, not in the hands of looters, Indy steals the artifact. The treasure hunters pursue him on a dangerous chase through a circus train, in which Indy takes his first crack at brandishing a whip.
Grail Knight
This knight spent seven hundred years in a remote chamber in the desert of Alexandretta, achieving immortality by drinking from the grail, which he had sworn an oath to protect. Once discovered by Indiana Jones, the knight stands aside as Indy and his two rivals attempt to choose the true grail from a table of deadly imitations.
Dr. Elsa Schneider
In the final challenge to possess the grail, Elsa volunteers to choose the true grail from a table strewn with deadly imitations. She chooses a golden, bejeweled cup for her benefactor, Walter Donovan, who drinks from it deeply, eager to taste immortality. Unfortunately for Donovan, Elsa’s choice proves to be either poor or malicious, as he swiftly ages until reduced to a pile of ash.
Indiana Jones
At Castle Brunwald, a German army intelligence base, Indiana Jones crashes through a window to rescue his father, Henry Jones. When three German soldiers discover Indy’s presence, they threaten the Joneses with a machine gun, demanding the missing grail diary. Despite being outnumbered, Indy overpowers the officer, using the officer’s own machine gun to eliminate him and his two men.
