This book wraps up the first arc since Dick Grayson stepped into the cape and cowl. It's been a bumpy road, at least for me. They finally revealed the new Black Mask's identity. It's an action packed book and as this series goes on I'm digging Dick as Batman more and more.
The reveal of Black Mask has been somewhat of a pressure builder with a little bit of a let down for me. New villains for a new Batman is a great idea but this was a little bit of a lackluster. Black mask comes off as a bit of a Scarface type character, where the mask talks to him and such. It was a bit of a let down with (spoiler) Jerimah Arkham being the Black Mask. Overall though I liked the book and will continue to get it.

The Siege is for lack of better words a war on Asgard by Norman Osborn and his Initiative. They have led an assault the likes of which have not been seen before. They took down Thor, almost to the point of death in the last issue. In the last panel you see a reflection in Iron Patriots armor and realize it was Caps shield as the panel draws closer.
Cap shows up with his Avengers to try and save the day. Now with the "war" at a more playing field, Norman Osborn feels the reigns of power slipping. With Osborn facing defeat he cries out "to cap's Avengers telling them they don't know what they have unleashed. The Sentry transforms into some kind of monster.
I don’t really know what’s going on with them with The Sentry. I’ve liked him since his first limited series and this is the only problem I have with the books so far. They are ruining The Sentry. Otherwise it’s been a great limited series and has gotten me back into Marvel Comics.

Booster Gold, The greatest hero you'll never know.
I can't believe we are 30 books into this series. When it started I was on the edge on whether or not I was going to like it. I mean sure he was cool in 52, but to have his own title? I didn't know. I have however since issue #1 been a fan of it though. If you haven't picked up any of the issues, go get some trades. They are worth it.
This issue wraps up the whole Coast City 3 part story arc dealing with the Destruction of Coast City by The Cyborg Superman. This is a very powerful issue in which Booster must decide whether to try and stop Cyborg Superman from destroying 5 million people or let the time stream remain the same. The time is running out with almost all of the sphere bombs scattered throughout the city. What will Booster do? Be the hero you'll never know of course!

A traditional samurai tale with a surprise twist ending. Swordsmith Assassin is a classic tale of revenge in feudal Japan. Toshiro is a Japanese sword maker that turns to making swords for a profit and selling them to anyone who has money to buy them. Toshiro’s father shames him for making swords for a profit. His family is killed early in the story. Toshiro is out for revenge. Toshiro is trained in the art of making swords not fighting with them; the sword maker is trained to become a sword master.
There really isn’t much more to tell. There is nothing new in reading this story it is like déjà vu. This story is the same anti- tragic hero tale anyone has watched, read, or have been told. The main character is shallow, Toshiro has very little background or depth to his character. This character could easily be replaced with Wolverine, Russell Crowe, or any tragic hero that swings a sword. No originality to this story.
The artwork is the only saving grace to this stale loaf of bread. The artwork is dark and gritty with shadowy overcast, a lot of earth tone colors are used in the story. The artwork surpasses what the writer is trying to convey in the story. Each frame of this book is a simple masterpiece, not to outrageous. The thin lines drawn around each person and expressions on their faces can tell more of a story. The dialogue bubbles destroy the images of art. Save your money and buy The Book of Five Rings by Miyamoto Musashi.

Paramount Pictures picks up the rights to EXISTENCE 2.0
Miles Millar and Alfred Gough -- the team behind The WB's eternally popular SMALLVILLE -- are adapting EXISTENCE 2.0 for the big screen. Michael Bay, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller's Platinum Dunes is set to produce along with Circle of Confusion's David Alpert.
EXISTENCE 2.0 is a three-issue miniseries published by Image Comics. Written by Nick Spencer (Forgetless, Shuddertown) and drawn by Ronald Salas, the series focuses on self-absorbed physicist Sylvester Baladine. After Baladine's assassination, Baladine finds his consciousness transferred to the body of the hitman who killed him. Things don't seem so bad until the people who "killed" Baladine kidnap his daughter. Baladine is forced to dig up his past to solve his own murder, making himself a target once more.
"EXISTENCE 2.0 is a cinematic book, so translation to the screen is only natural," explains Shadowline Publisher Jim Valentino. "We're excited to see this critically acclaimed title make the leap from page to screen, and the adaptation couldn't be in better hands."
EXISTENCE 2.0 will be collected with its four-issue sequel, EXISTENCE 3.0, in trade paperback and available for sale in August 2010.

Second printing of CHOKER #2 already in the works
Artist Ben Templesmith and writer Ben McCool have done it again! Like CHOKER #1, the second issue of their critically acclaimed and popularly received CHOKER miniseries has sold out at the distribution level. Image Comics is prepping a second printing to be released alongside CHOKER #3.
