John Layman and Rob Guillory's CHEW begins its new story arc with total distribution-level sell out, despite significant overprint!
CHEW, the highly acclaimed new series by writer John Layman and artist Rob Guillory, has begun its second story arc, "International Flavor" with yet another complete distribution-level sell out!
"When CHEW was first announced, many people expressed skepticism as to the longevity of a series about an investigator who gets psychic impressions from the things he eats. With the release of CHEW #6, the first issue of its second story arc, "International Flavor," we prove that CHEW has legs beyond its initial arc. In fact, we're confident CHEW won't start sucking until at least issue #7. Pick one up next Wednesday, December 23, and find out for yourself!"
CHEW's star, Detective Tony Chu, is a cop with a secret. As a Cibopath, Detective Chu gets a psychic impression from whatever he eats. While it means he's a hell of a Detective if he can stomach the evidence, once his secret gets out the government makes plans for him, whether he likes it or not. CHEW blends horror, mystery and the strangest ability of them all in an ongoing series of horrific crimes solved in the most horrific way possible. While copies may still be available at your local comic book store, there are no plans to reprint the issue at this time.
CHEW #7 (OCT090413), a 32-page full color comic book for $2.99, will be in-stores December 23, 2009.

PILOT SEASON: STEALTH #1
Top Cow Productions, Inc. proudly announced today that Pilot Season 2009 will continue with Pilot Season: Stealth #1. Hitting comic book stores February 3rd, 2010, Pilot Season: Stealth #1 is a 32-page glance into the creative minds of Image Comics partners Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead, Invincible) and Top Cow founder Marc Silvestri (X-Men/Dark Avengers: Utopia, The Darkness).
Written by Kirkman and featuring art from Top Cow studio artist Sheldon Mitchell (Trinity: Blood on the Sands, Witchblade Annual), Pilot Season: Stealth #1 centers on Todd Carey whose life is falling apart on him. While recovering from a nasty divorce, he learns that his daughter is flunking out of college and his father has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Even though he is unable to really take care of himself, Todd allows his father to move in with him. What Todd doesn’t know is that his father is the masked vigilante Stealth, and has been his entire life. Stealth has many enemies and his erratic behavior could easily get him killed – and all this trouble falls squarely in Todd’s lap.
“I’m excited for our fans and new readers to pick up Stealth,” said Mitchell. “Robert really created a dynamic relationship between Todd and his father, Marc laid out a visually compelling hero and I worked hard to get this storyline to jump off the pages.”
Pilot Season: Stealth #1 features a cover by co-creator Silvestri, and will carry a price of $2.99. A total of five new properties will be introduced in Pilot Season 2009 from co-creators Kirkman and Silvestri. Previously announced titles include Pilot Season: Murderer in stores in November and Pilot Season: Demonic in stores in December. A bargain priced issue titled Pilot Season: Declassified introduces readers to all five concepts for only one dollar.
An annual Top Cow tradition since 2007, Pilot Season allows fans the opportunity to choose the next two Top Cow series based on a selection of one-shot Pilot Season “pilot” issues through online voting. The inaugural Pilot Season initiative garnered more than four million votes from fans across the globe.

Erik Larsen's uncompromising superhero series invites new readers with a collection and the series' most ground breaking issue yet!
SAVAGE DRAGON has recently made a much publicized return to the Chicago police force, seen the return of his greatest nemesis and in SAVAGE DRAGON #156 he can only pray to survive what may be his fiercest challenge yet: his own creator, Erik Larsen.
"I'm putting SAVAGE DRAGON through the ringer, this time out" Larsen said. "When it came down to executing that classic superhero cliché, the showdown with an evil twin, there was no way that I was going to do the expected--that's not the way I'm wired. Often I've heard about writer/artists doing issue-long fight scenes and it occurred to me that I've never actually done that. This was an opportunity to cut loose as I've never cut loose before and the end result is not only the most brutal comic I've ever illustrated but quite possibly the most shocking as well. I've often said that there is no status quo in SAVAGE DRAGON and that nothing and nobody is safe. For readers weened on superhero comics from other publishers this may seem like a foreign concept but SAVAGE DRAGON readers have experienced that for years. Those readers who came onboard when Dragon returned to the police force are in for the surprise of their lives. If you think you have a good idea of what's possible in a superhero book, think again. SAVAGE DRAGON #156 will make you a believer."
SAVAGE DRAGON: BACK IN BLUE collects the series' much publicized revamp featured in the Chicago Tribune, New York Times and Huffington Post, among others. Beginning with SAVAGE DRAGON's return to the Chicago police force, his run in with President Obama and the return of his greatest nemesis, Overlord, the collection presents the best possible jumping on point for any fan eager to try out the series.
January also sees SAVAGE DRAGON #156, the second part of the current "Dragon War" story line, featuring the long-anticipated final showdown between Savage Dragon and an otherworldly counterpart intent on taking over his identity. With this issue, Larsen looks to push the boundaries of what people think of when of a typical superhero fight, presenting something on a much bigger scale than the previous eighteen years worth of issues has ever portrayed.
SAVAGE DRAGON #156 (NOV090333), a 32-page full color comic book for $3.50, will be in-stores January 6, 2010. Additionally, SAVAGE DRAGON: BACK IN BLUE (NOV090357), a 144-page full color trade paperback for $14.99, will be in-stores January 20, 2010.

Prepare to Meet a Conversing Caterpillar, a Mad Hatter and a Vanishing Cat as Dynamite Entertainment's The Complete Alice in Wonderland hits stores this Wednesday!!!!
"What is the use of a book," thought Alice, "without pictures or conversations!"
Take one politely stubborn and opinionated young girl. Add a good squeeze to an overactive imagination. Shake in a heavy mix of puzzling and bizarre guides. Reduce all morals and lessons to a nonsensical degree. And send it all on a journey to nowhere.
This is the premium blend of ingredients that in 1854 Lewis Carroll combined to create a fairy tale unlike any other in his treasured and timeless children's stories, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel, Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There.
Now, Dynamite Entertainment is proud to present the most complete and vivid comic book adaptation of Lewis Carroll's genre bursting tales of young Alice and her adventures in Wonderland with The Complete Alice in Wonderland.
Designed as a four-issue series (each issue a massive 40 pages) and in stores this Wednesday (December 16th), Dynamite's The Complete Alice in Wonderland will include both Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There, as well as the lost Looking-Glass chapter, "The Wasp in a Wig." This All-Ages adaptation is adapted by writers John Reppion and Leah Moore (the same writing team behind Dynamite's The Complete Dracula and Sherlock Holmes series), with art by Erica Awano. This creative team has taken the time to painstakingly preserve as much of the Lewis Carroll's original language and poetry as possible whilst attempting to capture the dreamlike qualities of his narrative.
Just as Wonderland is full of surprises, Dynamite's The Complete Alice in Wonderland #1 will feature a unique die-cut cover that opens to reveal an incredible image of Alice among some of Wonderland's most memorable (and bewildering) residents by none other than superstar artist John Cassaday! The entire four-issue series will be in full-color, with each issue containing 40 pages of story and art, plus Moore and Reppion will provide bonus material such as script pages, annotations and samplings of the original text by Lewis Carroll.
Take the trip down the rabbit hole with Dynamite this week!
