Scott Beatty's acclaimed series' epic last issue!
All good things must come to an end. Dynamite Entertainment's adventures of Buck Rogers reaches its conclusion in May with issue #12! In the concluding chapter of "Moonfall," written by Scott Beatty and drawn by Carlos Rafael, Buck and his allies discover that the greatest threat to Earth is neither aliens nor warring city-states, but from a Lunar "separatist" colony that has the most dangerous (and simplest) weapon ever devised! This ending will rock as the grand finale to the series!
Buck Rogers made his first newspaper appearance January 7, 1929, published by the John F. Dille Company. Rogers also appeared in a serial film, a television series as well and other formats. The idea for the comic strip originated with Dille, president of the National Newspaper Syndicate of America. Dille then enlisted editorial cartoonist Dick Calkins to co-author and illustrate. Honoring the past grandiose history of Buck Rogers, Dynamite is proud to celebrate the iconic Buck Rogers with issue #12 this May!
What can I say? BUCK ROGERS #12 is the grand finale to "Season One" of the Dynamite series," says writer Scott Beatty. "And as befitting a season capper for this series, it's chock full of action, double-crosses, and sci-fi intrigue on the Moon! There's an ending, a beginning, and a close encounter that Buck NEVER imagined as the past finally catches up with him in the 25th century!

Red Sonja #50 hits comic stores in June!
Because YOU demanded it…. this June, Dynamite Entertainment's original She-Devil with a Sword returns in the milestone anniversary issue, Red Sonja #50!
After the Red Sonja's epic battle with Kulan Gath and death, Dynamite made the move to the Queen Sonja series, leaving fans without the much anticipated #50 anniversary issue! But wait no more! In this amazing time and tradition of other marvelous milestones (such as Marvel's Thor #600 and Amazing Spider-Man #600), the all-new Red Sonja #50 will feature 100 pages of story and art, including new stories from Arvid Nelson, Kevin McCarthy, Raven Gregory, as well as reprints of classic stories by Roy Thomas! This incredible comic book will be available with four awe-inspiring covers and a forward by Dynamite's original Red Sonja scribe, Mike Carey! Be sure to reserve your copy of Red Sonja #50 before it's too late!
The action and adventure of Red Sonja #50 will be told old school "Hyboria-style", and for more info, we thought we would let the author's talk about their stories:
"In her new incarnation, She's put through her paces by the likes of Michael Avon Oeming and Brian Reed, not to mention Rascally Roy Thomas himself. I was part of the equation too, for a little while, and it was a blast, even though I was basically playing Stanley to Mike Oeming's Livingstone. Vividly imagined by Mel Rubi and Walter Geovani and Pablo Marcos (and don't get me started on the cover artists), Sonja is as compelling a heroine as ever - and she's never looked better." -- Mike Carey, writer of X-Men Legacy and writer of Dynamite's (2005) Red Sonja series debut, Red Sonja #50 foreword
"In my story, Sonja finds herself leading a wealthy warlord on a hunt for a legendary mountain beast, the cloud tiger," says writer Arvid Nelson. "But she's got a secret the whole time. The story is part history, and part mystery!"
"RED SONJA: THE FROST GIANT'S CURSE is a full-length, stand-alone epic which finds the She-Devil trapped in a violent Viking port city cursed by a perpetual Winter," states writer Kevin McCarthy. "Unable to escape by sea or land, Red Sonja uses her wits and her sword to slash a bloody path through legends and lies to discover the tragic truth behind a tormented town, and a giant monster's curse that, much like our red-haired heroine, cuts both ways. This story was a thrill for me to write, and in case I never got another chance, I put everything I've ever wanted to see the She-Devil do into my little Sonja saga. So it's got a brutal bar fight, an old woman whose warnings of danger go unheeded, a malicious magic curse, blood on the snow, tragic Viking heroes, and a freakin' FROST GIANT. An earlier draft featured cameos by the Green Hornet, Vampirella, Robocop, and President Barack Obama, but Nick Barrucci nixed that because Red Sonja #50 had already exceeded critical levels of awesomeness! Maybe next time . . ."
"I had a fantastic time working on this story with Raven Gregory," adds artist Joyce Chin. "It was a blast to meld together the Red Riding Hood myth, werewolf legends, and Red Sonja, such an iconic hero, into such a fast paced action packed story!"

Enjoy the further adventures of the Kevin Smith's Green Hornet #3 in April, one week before Free Comic Book Day!" states Dynamite President and Publisher Nick Barrucci.
The Green Hornet is one of comicdom's first masked crime fighters. Originally created by George W. Trendle and Fran Striker for an American radio program in the 1930's, the character has appeared in other media as well, including film serials in the 1940's, a network television program in the 1960s, and multiple comic book series from the 1940s to the 1990s. Though various incarnations sometimes change details, in most incarnations the Green Hornet is Britt Reid, a newspaper publisher by day who by night goes out in his masked "Green Hornet" identity to fight crime as a vigilante, accompanied by his similarly masked Asian manservant Kato and driving a car, equipped with advanced technology, called "Black Beauty".
The critics say - "Green Hornet" is a hit!
"It's nice to read something with the same energy of a Kevin Smith movie without immediately being able to tell it's a Kevin Smith script. He levels out his trademark styles and focuses on the action within. Here's hoping this kind of quality can continue throughout and become an evergreen tale for this forgotten character." - Noel Bartocci, Broken Frontier
"The first issue is a lot of fun, with plenty of action and verbal darts getting thrown. The pacing as the Hornet sneaks up on a Mafia gang and a Chinese gang hoping to throw in together against the Hornet is well done." - Mel Odom, Blog Critics
"The story of a rookie Green Hornet in modern times is a good fit for Smith's writing and will hopefully reinvigorate the character. If anything, the series will be an interesting companion piece to the feature film to be released later this year." - Andy Bentley, IGN
"This comic simply works. It makes sense. We see the original Green Hornet at the end of his career. Phil Hester did the breakdowns and Jonathan Lau does the pencils. It's a really nice looking comic. I should also mention that Ivan Nunes colors really complement the art as well. The action scenes are intense. You really get a sense that the Green Hornet and Kato are tough dudes." - G-Man, Comic Vine

Brace for another exciting issue of Battlefields, from the legendary writer Garth Ennis!
Dynamite Entertainment's hit series, Battlefields, continues its bold march as it reaches the conclusion of "The Firefly and his Majesty". In issue #6, written by Garth Ennis and drawn by Carlos Ezquerra, Sergeant Stiles' hatred of the Nazis has got him right where he wants to be: sitting behind a high-velocity cannon with a mighty German tank in his sights. But Tigers are never more dangerous than when they're cornered, and the Panzer crew will be only too happy to take their enemies with them. The cat and mouse battle is fought to the finish, as the second Battlefields arc concludes with a bang.
The Battlefields series began as three self-contained mini-series of three issues each, all of which are set during WWII. The first mini-series, with artist Russell Braun, titled The Night Witches is set on the Eastern front and concerns a women-only Soviet bomber regiment. The second series, with artist Peter Snejbjerg, titled Dear Billy concerns a British nurse, who had survived rape and execution by Japanese soldiers in Singapore, and her relationship with a decorated flying ace. The third series, Tankies, with artist Carlos Ezquerra, is about an inexperienced British tank crew of Londoners in a Churchil Tank led by a Geordie veteran as they attempt to catch up with their company, enduring attacks by Nazi Tiger tanks as the Battle of Normandy rages on. (All these series are now available in trade and hardcover.) And now the war adventure continues in Battlefields #6 (of 9): The Firefly and his Majesty Part 3 in May!"!
"The last part of ‘The Firefly And His Majesty' was one I'd been looking forward to writing for a long time," says writer Garth Ennis. "It's a real cat-and-mouse story, two experienced and intelligent opponents doing their best to outwit and destroy each other. The climax, as Sergeant Stiles' Firefly comes face to face with the German King Tiger, can only be described as shattering."

Red Sonja Annual #3 hits comic shops this May!
The industry's best and brightest have all worked on Dynamite's Red Sonja. Now the writer/artist Dan Brereton is giving his take on his favorite red-headed warrior drawn by Adriano Batista in Red Sonja Annual #3, with select pages painted by Dan Brereton himself!!!!!!!!! In this special issue, Red Sonja is on her way through a mountain pass to meet a client she's been hired to guide. Sonja meets the former subjects of a fallen king said to haunt the mountains in the years since losing the war, and his life to a savage tribe of mountain trolls. When the young girl she was hired to escort off the mountain is spirited away right before her eyes, Sonja follows, dragging along the town hag. In the crags above the village, she discovers the Hall of the Lonely King, where folk have disappeared to for years, never to return again. Its here she meets the lonesome king, his spectral guard...and the flesh-eating enemies who feast on the King's kidnapped subjects.
Red Sonja, the She-Devil with a Sword, is a high fantasy sword and sorcery heroine created by Roy Thomas and Barry Windsor-Smith. She first appeared in Conan the Barbarian #23 by Marvel Comics. Red Sonja has become the archetypical example of the fantasy figure of a fierce and stunningly beautiful female barbarian who typically wears armor resembling a bikini or lingerie. The character now appears monthly in her own series, Queen Sonja, as well as a series of mini-series and one-shots from Dynamite Entertainment. So enjoy this special issue of Red Sonja Annual #3 coming this May!
"I'm thrilled to have been able to tell the story of Red Sonja and the Lonely King, a tale I've had in mind to tell for several years," says writer Dan Brereton. Since I was a snot-nose kid, Red Sonja has always been my favorite female character in comics. Something about her never fails to captivate me- it isn't the steel bikini or the flaming red hair... you just can't shake her eyes- angry, intelligent, savage and sad. I think she may even have her Cimmerian pal beat for gigantic melancholy and gigantic mirth, which is a great challenge from a writing standpoint."

Before Twilight. Before True Blood. Before Buffy. Before Blade. There was…Vampirella! Leading comic book publisher, Dynamite Entertainment, is proud to announce it has acquired the Vampirella property from Harris Publications. Vampirella will become part of Dynamite's thriving comic book line-up, which includes Project Superpowers, The Boys, Green Hornet, The Lone Ranger, Zorro, Army of Darkness, Red Sonja and more.
Vampirella debuted in 1969 in a black & white magazine titled simply VAMPIRELLA. With a stunning cover by legendary artist, Frank Frazetta, Vampirella #1 quickly made publishing history with its depiction of a vampire heroine, and its success prompted comics giants DC and Marvel to launch horror titles of their own. Vampirella appeared in this magazine format throughout the 1970's. Many of these classic stories were illustrated by the legendary artist Jose Gonzalez and have remained quite popular with comics fans to the present day. After a brief publishing hiatus, Vampirella returned in 1992 and quickly regained her reigning status as the queen of all female comics characters! In continuous publication since her early 90s comeback, Vampirella has been written by top talents including Alan Moore, Mark Millar, Grant Morrision, James Robinson, Jeph Loeb, Warren Ellis, and illustrated by fan favorite artists such as Joe Quesada, J. Scott Campbell, Michael Turner, Jae Lee, Adam Hughes, Mark Texeira, Joe Jusko, Arthur Suydam, and many more! A Vampirella feature film premiered on Showtime Networks in 1996, and the character continues to appear on numerous items of licensed merchandise.
Commenting on the acquisition, Nick Barrucci, President of Dynamite Entertainment said, "Vampirella is one of the most well known and longest running comic characters in the history of the business. Outside of Marvel and DC characters, very few comics characters that debuted in the 60's still resonate with fans today. Our acquisition of this iconic brand is another step in Dynamite's exciting growth and builds on the ongoing success of our line."
"I am incredibly pleased to be passing the stewardship of Vampirella on to Dynamite," says Stanley Harris, President of Harris Publications. "Dynamite has proven to be one of the premiere publishers in the comic book industry, and Vampirella couldn't be in better and more caring hands!"
Look for more announcements soon on Dynamite's Vampirella plans!

Acclaimed Writer Brett Matthews joins John Cassaday to launch a new Green Hornet comic!
Following the successful launch of Kevin Smith's Green Hornet and Matt Wagner's upcoming Green Hornet Year One #1, Dynamite Entertainment is proud to introduce an all-new, all-different Green Hornet in The Green Hornet Strikes! #1. But who is this Green Hornet? Is he a hero? A criminal? He doesn't even know, himself. In a near future where the financial crisis has not been resolved, Chicago is more corrupt than ever. The rich are few and wield unimaginable power and influence. The poor are countless and live without hope. Gangs vie for control of the streets. Heroes have long been forgotten, until now!
With Kevin Smith's Green Hornet reaching mainstream attention on MTV and WWE.com, not to mention his own Twitter account, now is the time to jump on the Green Hornet Bandwagon! The Green Hornet Strikes! #1 is an easily accessible comic book featuring the writing of acclaimed Lone Ranger scribe Brett Matthews, cover artist John Cassaday and interior artist Ariel Padilla! Witness the birth of a new Green Hornet in The Green Hornet Strikes! #1!
"The Green Hornet Strikes! features a new version of the character, in a near-future world where the financial crisis we face today didn't resolve neatly," says writer Brett Matthews. "At its core, it explores all the things THE GREEN HORNET has always been about -- corruption. The fine line between hero and criminal. Politics and legacy -- but through the filter of its young protagonist, who is a little less stable and certain of his actions. It's faithful to what's come before but definitely its own thing, like THE LONE RANGER but taking the approach much further. It's a unique book. It had to be, to earn its place in such a solid lineup."
"It's new and fresh, and not the typical Green Hornet story most know from the 1960's," states artist Ariel Padilla. "The comic has a futuristic feel, but it will have a different look that will surprise readers."
"Brett is a great writer with the ability to take a character to his core being, and flesh him out and make he or she more interesting. We're fortunate to have him with John Cassaday (the Green Hornet's #1 fan) and showcasing the art of Ariel Padilla in this new ongoing series. This is NOT the Green Hornet you know, but it will be a new one to enjoy!" stated Dynamite President and Publisher Nick Barrucci.

The critics agree - Buck Rogers isn't just the future…it's the future told right!
"I could recommend Buck Rogers because of its artwork. Carlos Rafael and Carlos Lopez illustrate some sweet science fiction that pays homage to the old while banking on the new. In addition to the special effects, they illustrate an attractive and comprehensible visual narrative, and a healthy cast that exemplifies dynamic design and anatomy. I could recommend the book because of Scott Beatty's smart plotting that makes use of historical Buck Rogers attributes and the amusing antics of con artists Ardala and Kane. I could further recommend the title because of Beatty's ear for natural-sounding dialogue. Instead, I'm recommending the book because of its finale. The end to the story characterizes Buck Rogers as a humane individual that lives in the twenty-first century but always sported future ideals. It's because of these actions Buck Rogers earns five bullets." - Ray Tate, Comics Bulletin
"Carlos Rafael delivers a magnificent set of visuals to accompany the story for this first issue from Dynamite Entertainment. Rafael takes the fantastic imagery of yesteryear (with the ray guns that look like a modified bike horn) and blends in some modern (and post-modern) sensibilities. There's no reason for the futuristic costumes to be ornate or garish just because they can be, so Rafael decides to make them functional and clean. This look is accentuated by the strong palette of Carlos Lopez, who manages to make the black tones on the printed page achieve a richer, deeper black beyond 100% K." - Doug Zawisza, Comic Book Resources
"Digging up old properties and dusting them off can be tricky. Too often the property is mired in past continuity thanks to estates and creators, causing the property to fade away, never to be heard from again. Dynamite has had a good record as of late with properties like Zorro, The Lone Ranger, and The Man With No Name, and after reading this first issue, it looks like the company is going to do the same thing with Buck Rogers. If you hadn't planned on picking up this issue, I say grab it now." - Stephen Schleicher, Major Spoilers

Since then, Ash has crossed over with several other movie and comics franchises, meeting everyone from Raimi's Darkman to zombie Spider-Man. Ash has had so many comic book crossovers (Reanimator, Freddy and Jason, even Xena), he's starting to make Batman look like a homebody.)" - AMC.com's Horror Hacker Blog

Premiere Comics Publisher Rolls out Two Digital Titles in time for the Holidays
Dynamite Entertainment announced today that they have partnered with comiXology to roll out two of their titles via the Comics by comiXology iPhone app before the holidays.
Fans can look for Dynamite's Terminator and the Army of Darkness Holiday Special now in the Comics by comiXology app! The free app is available, with over 700 comics, on Apple's iTunes App Store.
"The world is evolving and along with it, the way we purchase and view entertainment, including comics. That's something that we all are adapting to. But there is a ‘wow' part, and that is in combining the cool comics Dynamite produces with the work that comiXology is doing and usher it to the brand-new audience waiting to experience our DYNAMITE publications. While we love producing comics as monthly periodicals and collected editions, introducing new fans to comics through the iPhone and other technologies will help to complement and grow the industry. Working with comiXology is a great way to take existing comics and bring them to a new audience, and work to bring that audience back to the comic shops. So, while until now we've been hesitant to do anything that would adversely affect our comics retail partners, the additional features that comiXology adds that allows fans to find out more about the comics stores near them has made this the right time and a win-win for everyone."
"We're incredibly excited to expand Comics by comiXology with Dynamite Entertainment," said David Steinberger, CEO of comiXology. "The amazing titles and work will really shine on the platform. Terminator and Ash are a great start to a full line of Dynamite titles on the iPhone."
The Guided View feature of Comics by comiXology keeps the entire page of a comic intact, unlike other solutions where the page is cut into individual pictures the user browses like a photo application. The app's retailer locator will enable customers to contact local retailers from within the app itself to order the print edition of Dynamite Entertainment Comics.
Fans can review the available Dynamite titles on the web beginning on the aforementioned days here: http://www.comixology.com/digital/publisher/5/dynamite
To download Comics by comiXology from iTunes:

And this is just the beginning as Dynamite closes out the year with these initial offerings and plans to release more in early 2010, stay tuned!

Prepare to Meet a Conversing Caterpillar, a Mad Hatter and a Vanishing Cat as Dynamite Entertainment's The Complete Alice in Wonderland hits stores this Wednesday!!!!
"What is the use of a book," thought Alice, "without pictures or conversations!"
Take one politely stubborn and opinionated young girl. Add a good squeeze to an overactive imagination. Shake in a heavy mix of puzzling and bizarre guides. Reduce all morals and lessons to a nonsensical degree. And send it all on a journey to nowhere.
This is the premium blend of ingredients that in 1854 Lewis Carroll combined to create a fairy tale unlike any other in his treasured and timeless children's stories, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel, Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There.
Now, Dynamite Entertainment is proud to present the most complete and vivid comic book adaptation of Lewis Carroll's genre bursting tales of young Alice and her adventures in Wonderland with The Complete Alice in Wonderland.
Designed as a four-issue series (each issue a massive 40 pages) and in stores this Wednesday (December 16th), Dynamite's The Complete Alice in Wonderland will include both Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There, as well as the lost Looking-Glass chapter, "The Wasp in a Wig." This All-Ages adaptation is adapted by writers John Reppion and Leah Moore (the same writing team behind Dynamite's The Complete Dracula and Sherlock Holmes series), with art by Erica Awano. This creative team has taken the time to painstakingly preserve as much of the Lewis Carroll's original language and poetry as possible whilst attempting to capture the dreamlike qualities of his narrative.
Just as Wonderland is full of surprises, Dynamite's The Complete Alice in Wonderland #1 will feature a unique die-cut cover that opens to reveal an incredible image of Alice among some of Wonderland's most memorable (and bewildering) residents by none other than superstar artist John Cassaday! The entire four-issue series will be in full-color, with each issue containing 40 pages of story and art, plus Moore and Reppion will provide bonus material such as script pages, annotations and samplings of the original text by Lewis Carroll.
Take the trip down the rabbit hole with Dynamite this week!
