IMAGE COMICS AND MYSPACE FREE MCFARLANE'S SPAWN RELAUNCH!

Image Comics and MySpace release Todd McFarlane and Whilce Portacio's Spawn #185 for free online as #186 sells out!

Image Comics and MySpace have teamed up to release Todd McFarlane and Whilce Portacio's SPAWN relaunch as the second issue sells out at a distribution-level!

Todd McFarlane Productions is excited to be partnering with Myspace Comics to bring the fans Spawn #185," McFarlane said. "Myspace Comics is the wave of the new generation. Many fans have turned to this form of modern communication. I hope you enjoy looking at a medium that is challenging how things have been traditionally done.

SPAWN #185 shocked comics fandom with its series-altering death of Al Simmons, lead of the series since its debut in 1992, and the mysterious awakening of the long comatose Patient 47. While the link between Simmons' death and Patient 47 is still unknown this past week's #186 gave the first hints and resulted in yet another immediate sell-out. While limited copies may be available through your local comic book store a new printing will soon be available.

SPAWN #185, a full-color 22-page comic, is available to read on http://www.myspace.com/comicbooks. Copies of SPAWN #185 2ND PTG (SEP088230), a full-color 32-page comic book for $2.95, are still available.

ARTIST FRANK QUITELY CREATES VARIANT COVER FOR WONDER WOMAN #27

With the “Rise of the Olympian” storyline continuing in WONDER WOMEN #27, Eisner Award winning artist Frank Quitely (ALL STAR SUPERMAN) has created a variant cover for this issue.

Retailers may order one copy of the WONDER WOMAN #27 Variant Edition (OCT088013) featuring a cover by Frank Quitely for every ten copies of WONDER WOMAN #27 (OCT080157) ordered.

In this issue, written by Gail Simone and illustrated by Aaron Lopresti and Matt Ryan, Genocide remains on a murderous rampage while Wonder Woman has to deal with the ramifications, both mental and physical, of failing to stop this threat. Meanwhile, the Amazons make their long-awaited return to a home they barely recognize, and a god makes a promise to Athena that will change the landscape of the DC Universe.

WONDER WOMAN #27 is solicited in the October Previews and is scheduled to arrive in stores on December 24. This issue has a Final Order Cutoff date of November 25.

NEW CONTENTS FOR TINY TITANS #12 TIE INTO “FACES OF EVIL"

DC Comics announces new contents for TINY TITANS #12 (NOV080196), making it a part of the DC Universe’s “Faces of Evil” month.

In this special “Faces of Mischief” issue, see what happens in the average day of the faculty of Sidekick Elementary as we follow the antics of Principal Slade and Trigon. The Tiny Titans have their own ideas of what goes on in the Teacher’s Lounge — but how close are they to the truth?

“When I heard about ‘Faces of Evil,’ I knew Trigon had a face that needed to be shared with the world,” says writer/artist Art Baltzar.

And, adds writer Franco, “Trigon is such a fatherly figure, why wouldn’t you want his face on a cover? It’s not like he’s evil or something.”

The story and cover originally solicited for this issue will now appear in TINY TITANS #13. TINY TITANS #12 is solicited in the November Previews and is scheduled to arrive in stores on January 21.

Because of this change, this issue will be made returnable at a later date.

Mattel Q&A For November 15th

1) What ever happened to the 5" Two-Face & Nolan inspired Deathstroke that were shown at Toy Fair? Are they still slated to be produced? If so when?

These figures should be out later in the fall.

2) A lot of collectors are feeling frustrated because they are having difficulty finding the 6" DC Universe figures. It seems like some areas are flooded, while others are not. Now especially with the upcoming Wal-Mart wave, are you planning on doing anything with the stores to help out with better distribution? Is there anything Mattel can do to improve this?

We have spoken directly to our larger retail partners about adjusting their ordering habits to accommodate a collector line like DCUC, IH and JLU by ordering light and often, as opposed to ordering all of their supply from Wave 1. The best thing you as a fan can do is let the manager of your local toy department or store know what you are looking for and what you want to see more of. In the end, it is up to our retail partners to place orders. Mattel can only ship what is ordered by them.

3) Are the "sidekick" characters (ie Kid Flash and forthcoming ones) going to be the same miniscule scale as the DCUC 3 Robin figure or are they going to use the Sinestro body as it is a better fit for them?

They will be in size to Robin from Wave 3.

4) Are there any plans to add more female characters to the waves? One per wave doesn't seem right.

There will be more females coming and some waves will have multiple females. Although this is a collector aimed line, a large percentage of sales are still mom and kid, and females do not sell as well to this demographic. We will continue to populate the line with fan demanded females but they will not be as plentiful as the male characters.

5) Are there any vehicles planned for the DC Infinite Heroes figures? If so, when might we see the first one?

This is something we are looking into pending there is enough fan demand. The earliest we might be able to make these available would be fall 2009.
