Marvel Congratulates The Creators Of The New York Times Best Selling Graphic Books!

Following Thursday’s announcement by the New York Times, Marvel would like to congratulate the seven teams of creators whose work made their historic debut on the New York Times Best Selling Graphic Books list. Marvel’s titles had an impressive showing on both the hardcover and softcover lists.

“We’re thrilled to see this important recognition for the comics industry!” says David Gabriel, SVP of Sales. “Over the past year, we’ve worked very closely with the New York Times and it’s exciting to see that comic creators as well as the entire industry can be given this honor.”

Join us for The Goon's 10th Anniversary Party

On March, Friday the 13th, an event commemorating the 10th anniversary of Eric Powell's acclaimed comic book series, The Goon, will be held at the Cannery Ballroom in Nashville, Tennessee. The Goon is the winner of The 2004 International Horror Guild award for Best Illustrated Narrative and is a recipient of five Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards. With an established diehard cult following as a comic, the Goon now prepares to move into the world of film after being optioned by Academy Award nominated director and producer David Fincher (Benjamin Button, Fight Club, Zodiac) and Academy Award nominated Blur Studio to develop as a CG animated feature film with Dark Horse Entertainment.

The Goon anniversary show will feature performances by The Protomen, Ghoultown, Calabrese, as well as Roxi Dlite, Ruby Rocket, Miss Lolly Pop, Lux-O-Matic, Monique Honeybush, and Sadie Twist. Also in attendance will be The Nashville Rollergirls, Tony Moore (co-creator of The Walking Dead and artist of Fear Agent), and Eric Powell will be there for signings and to make a special announcement about his next Goon project slated for this summer--a project surely to be the most bizarre and unexpected yet in the Goon mythology. Party goers will also be able to pick up exclusive merchandise found nowhere else! The Complete Rocketeer By Dave Stevens Coming From IDW

Two Versions, Including A Deluxe Edition Featuring Many Never-Before-Seen Images

IDW Publishing is proud to announce the upcoming release of The Complete Rocketeer by Dave Stevens, collecting the classic series in its entirety for the first time ever.

After more than a decade out of print, The Rocketeer makes a triumphant return to stores this October with a comprehensive hardcover edition featuring artwork digitally re-mastered from Stevens' own lovingly maintained collection of originals, and all-new coloring by Laura Martin, the Eisner-Award-winning colorist handpicked by Stevens himself.

The Rocketeer, a rollicking tribute to pulp novels and Saturday morning matinee serials, follows the high-flying adventures of stunt pilot Cliff Secord and his girlfriend Betty, after Cliff finds a mysterious jet pack and takes to the sky. The graphic novel went on to become a much-loved major motion picture directed by Joe Johnston.

In addition to the mass-market hardcover, a very special deluxe edition is planned. Presented in a larger format, the deluxe edition will be filled with behind-the-scenes material, a treasure of additional pages featuring previously unpublished Rocketeer designs, preliminaries, and sketches by Dave Stevens, many taken from his personal sketchbooks.

This might be the coolest version of this iconic movie car ever. If this had been out when I was 12 I definitely would have made my parents buy it for me. DC COMICS UPDATES CONTENTS OF FINAL CRISIS HC

DC Comics has expanded the contents of the FINAL CRISIS HC, collecting the explosive event written by Grant Morrison.



Now running 352 pages, this title will include FINAL CRISIS #1-7, FINAL CRISIS: SUBMIT #1 and FINAL CRISIS: SUPERMAN BEYOND #1-2, all written by Morrison, along with a new cover by J.G. Jones depicting the penultimate scene of the series.

The FINAL CRISIS HC (FEB090203) is advance-solicited in the February Previews and is scheduled to arrive in stores on June 10 with a price of $29.99 U.S. Because of these changes, this title will be made returnable at a later date.
