Comic Review: Fall of Cthulhu: Nemesis #4(BOOM! Studios) by John H

Keep your friends close and your enemies even closer…

What goes around comes round. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Judge not lest ye be judged. Does any of this sound familiar? All these old adages about being good, keeping your nose clean and basically warning us of the dire circumstances of committing vile acts seem to be lost at times, and this is even more apparent in Fall of Cthulhu: Nemesis #4

In this final issue of the four part story, King Levin’s plans to become both King and D’Harin come full circle, but perhaps not in the way he had intended. The D’Harin has plans of his own. However, for his former nemesis, a priest of Nyarlothep, who has seemingly helped the D’Harin gain allies among the varying factions of Atlantean society, treachery may be afoot. How will the gods’ pass judgment on these two brothers, both bent on usurping the others power by any means necessary? The end results will be quite surprising to the reader.

Overall I found the various levels of intrigue and deception in this comic to be laughable at best. This series seems to me as to been written as a synopsis for an afterthought. I found the story to be nonsensical and bland. This story could have been great if it had a bit of passion or imagination. It is nothing spectacular compared to previous chapters in this series.

6.5/10

Goes on sale July 22nd.
